About Atlas Billing Company
Connecting Patients & Providers – without getting filthy rich.
Atlas Billing Company was born out of an unusual necessity. After Dr. Keith Smith posted prices for the Surgery Center of Oklahoma in 2009, it became apparent that a payment clearinghouse was necessary to accommodate the individual or institutional purchaser of medical services.
That was the genesis of Atlas Billing Company, but we quickly became much more than a billing company. Patients would contact Surgery Center of Oklahoma in need of procedures we couldn’t provide – or when they needed procedures in other parts of the country.
At Atlas Billing Company, we don’t back down from a challenge.
Instead of leaving these patients high and dry, we decided to use the same principles Surgery Center of Oklahoma was built on, but in partnership with other facilities. We found willing surgeons, anesthesiologists and facilities, bundled together the prices they named, and offered those to these patients.
The Rest Is History
The result is astonishing:
Patients pay less, and providers are paid more.
In the decades since, we have continued to grow, adding more surgeries, partner surgeons and facilities. Today we offer transparent pricing on nearly 1,000 distinct procedures. If you can’t find yours, contact us and we’ll create a bundle just for you.
How is this possible?
We cut out the large, bad-faith, greedy, deceptive insurance carriers. As a direct result, patients pay less, providers are paid more and there are a lot fewer headaches to go around.
Everyone wins.
Except insurance, of course.
